On the way to Sycamore Landing I saw a dog tearing away at a carcass just west of Potomac. Then on the return trip there were 3 Black Vultures and an adult Turkey Vulture feeding on another one across from the Tara subdivision near Piney Meetinghouse Road. They were totally oblivious to the cars speeding by within 5 feet of them. Since the carcass I saw earlier was still there I loaded it into the car and took it to McKee-Beshers where I put it out in a field where the vultures could feed on it. On this trip I saw a group of crows cleaning what was left of another carcass near Swains Lock Road. By the time I returned to Potomac the vultures were gone.
