Landbirds were hard to come by, but waterfowl were in good numbers- Pied-billed Grebe-1; Canada Goose-106; Gadwall-4; Am. Wigeon-18; Am Black Duck-63; Mallard-18; Green-winged Teal-2; Canvasback-92; Redhead-69; Ring-necked Duck-170; Lesser Scaup-15; Bufflehead-51; Common Goldeneye-17; Hooded Merganser-23 and Common Merganser-4. The majority of the divers was between TenFoot Island and the towpath. On the way back there was an immature Sharpie plucking the feathers from it prey- a Downy Woodpecker. One less bird to count next time.
