Thanks --- Sue Hamilton --- for your "MDOsprey" post, as we stopped by the Gov. Johnson Bridge and viewed the Peregrine Falcons flying around and sitting on the framework of the bridge. Apparently a falconer/ bird bander was also enjoying them. Because as we pulled up by the bridge, two guys were scanning the area with binoculars. They left as we were getting out of my car, but on the front seat of their car was a cage with at least one Starling in it. Scanning with binoculars from several locations produced Canvasbacks, Redheads, Coots, Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks, one Hooded Merganser, Greater Scaup and, mostly, Lesser Scaup. On Saturday, the ducks at Seneca were greatly reduced as was the ice. I had a great view of an immature Cooper's Hawk as it flew close to me at eye level and landed in a tree about 150 feet away. Happy birding, Dan Eberly ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
