MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi folks, I have a second hand report that a Sandhill Crane (perhaps THE Sandhill Crane) was spotted in Somerset Co. on Saturday. I consider the birder who reported it to me to be very reliable, but since she wasn't planning to report it, she did not determine its precise location. The bird was seen from US 13 "a few miles south of Princess Anne on the east side of the highway, behind a white stucco? (one story?) house with a chain-link fence around the back yard; it was behind the house in a small field or garden plot all by itself (i.e., without the company of geese, etc.). If anyone happens to be in the area, it might be worth trying to relocate. Some of us who missed the one on Tarbutton Mill Rd. in early Jan. would love to get it on our year list, and I'm sure a lot of county listers wouldn't mind seeing it either.
