This was the first time I was able to stay through sunset. We were greeted when we first arrived by a light-morph Rough-legged Hawk out over the fields until it dropped down to catch something. We found the same(another?) bird perched in a tree across the field a few minutes later. As sunset approached, I kept hoping for a Short-eared Owl which failed to appear. After sunset, we were delighted by atleast 10 displaying woodcocks.
