Beside Parran Road a dozen wild turkeys were feeding in a field. Good omen. Parked at the end of the road, in the driveway of the yellow house, happily aware of lots of bird noise. Goldeneye and bufflehead swam close in to the shore, and red-wings called from everywhere. A large lump on an osprey platform was a great blue heron. I walked back up the road, past the marshy bit to spish at the chickadees and titmice, annoying a few whitethroats and cardinals in the process. Kept walking, past an immature red-tail 15 ft up in a tree. Heard a chickadee a few hundred yards up the road, and kept walking ....till, finally, I heard squeaky noises! This from a patch of conifers before the houses, where the road makes a turn, some few hundred yards before the end of the road. Then I had to rush to work. Next time I'll SEE them. sue hamilton ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
