MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Last night I netted 10 Sawwhet owls in Washington county although a heavy fog appeared shortly after I opened my nets. I would expect that the previous nights of warm temps and light South winds were also good for owl migration. Of the 10 owls, all were females and only one was previously banded, by me at the same location in the first week of November '99. For those of you hoping to count this species aided by the large '99 migration your time is running short. This week I have also seen large flocks of Redwinged balckbirds near my home. The male Goldfinches are beginning to change and the Song sparrows have eagerly lived up to their name in the last few days. Redtailed hawks are pairing up and actively building or have completed nests in some places. J.
