A flock of 150 or so Bonaparte's Gulls and the Little Gull were actively feeding in the effluent water. The gull was very easy to spot with its gray underwings and white trailing edge. Around 10 AM the flock dispersed, some birds flying to the north so I went into Flag Ponds with the hope of finding the bird there. By around 1:30, there were about 75 Bonaparte's resting on the water and if the Little Gull was among them I was not able to distinguish it because the most of the flock never flew in the time that I watched them. I'll check this flock again as they seem to come to Flag Ponds every afternoon. Got home to find that my Pine Warbler had arrived -- two days earlier than last year! Thanks to all who had reported this bird, especially Danny Bystrack who found it. Lifer for me. I tried for it on Saturday but could not even see the bay it was so foggy. ////// Arlene Ripley | || Calvert County, MD | 0 || aripley@nestbox.com | || http://www.nestbox.com || ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
