They are beginning to trickle in. Yesterday evening there was a female Wood Duck here on Leeds Creek - the first I have seen here since last fall. This afternoon a Woodcock was quietly sunning himself along Tunis Mills Road, around 4:30 p.m. (I did not stay around to watch any evening dance). And one lovely male Cardinal will not get to enjoy any more spring days - he fell prey to the talons of a Sharpie - right beside my feeders, as my wife and I were watching. 3000 Canada Geese spent the night on the Leeds Creek waters again last night - but they sure seem to be getting edgy. No doubt they will bail out pretty soon.
