Terry" Subject: Loch Raven Watershed MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Looking out at the reservoir from the Loch Raven Drive today, I enjoyed seeing 4 Horned Grebes all in a row, 1 Common Loon in breeding plumage, 5 Tundra Swan, 50 Redheads, 17 Pied-billed Grebes and 10 Common Mergansers. Gadwall, Black , Amer. Wigeon, Mallard and Ring-necked Ducks were also present. Their numbers seemed lower than at any other time this winter season. Later in the morning we walked the fire roads around the Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Range. We especially enjoyed seeing and hearing our first Pine Warbler of the season, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, 3 Hermit Thrushes, 4 Fox Sparrows, and a Swamp Sparrow.
