Nothing at Clarks Lane at 3:00 or 5:30 PM, but we saw one male Lapland Longspur almost immediately on arriving at 2:00 at the recommended Sparks Road location, among numerous Horned Larks. The longspur was well into pre-breeding molt, with a bright chestnut nape and mostly black breast. Another birder saw one female Lapland. Sparks Road also had about a flock of about 30 Snow Buntings. We also discovered the Adkins Arboretum in Tuckahoe State Park, and a place in Denton with homemade apple pie. The Grasonville (Kent Narrows) pond had Mallards, Gads, Hooded Mergs, and Greater (by wing stripe length) Scaup.
