Highlights follow. Rehoboth area: tufted duck- 1 (female at Spring Lake) sanderling- about 30 Indian River inlet: great cormorant- 1 brant-25 Ocean City inlet: r-t loon- 3 brant- 2 harlequin duck- 4 (all males) rb merganser- 1 (male) purple sandpiper- about 12 ruddy turnstone- 3 on south jetty; more may have been present Am. oystercatcher- 6 Ocean City flats: rb merganser- 4 (3 male, 1 female) Am. oystercatcher- 7 Berlin sewage ponds: lesser black-backed gull- 1 (2nd winter) Canvasbacks and ruddies were the most numerous ducks at West Ocean City pond and Silver Lake (DE). Sunset over the Bay Bridge was spectacular!
