Four people covered 3 = separate routes each of about 2 miles with approximately 10 stops in = each route. The total number of woodcocks heard or seen was 28. = Peenting was heard at many of the stops with aireal displays at several = and at one stop one woodcock was chasing another in the air. The routes = were generally covered from around 6:20 to 6:50 pm. I have a question re: the woodcock displays for anyone(s) out there who = might answer. If the woodcocks are doing their displays and are = peenting at a certain spot, does that mean that they will nest and breed = at or near that location; or, is it possible that they are still = migrating and are just displaying along their migration route?? Thanks = for any info. regarding this activity.
