On March 9: Male redwings are plentiful (zero to 90+ in the last two weeks), and on territory, but no females yet. The first phoebe of the season heard. Two Tree Swallows swooping over the lake. 10 Fox Sparrows; eight in one flock. Brown-headed Cowbirds are back. Counted 13.
