(4), Coots = (3), Mallards (some). On the way back, late afternoon much better, = added : Horned Grebe (1), Redheads (2), Canvasback (2), Ring-necked Duck = (4), Lesser Scaup (12) Gadwall (2). Cumberland, at end of C & O Canal: Hooded Mergs. (6), Mallards (some) = and Ring-billed Gulls (7). Pond on Chestnut Ridge Rd., just So. of I68: Am. Coots (several), = Ring-necked Ducks (many), Mallards (many), C. Geese (many), Hooded = Mergs, (2), Lesser Scaup (a dozen or so). Deep Creek Lake: Pretty much empty, on the way down just Mallards and = Am. ACoots (many of both). On the way back, the good thing was 9 = Ring-billed Gulls which coupled with the ones in Cumberland gave me a = closeout on that species. Farm Pond just S.E. of Deep Creek Lake: Buffleheads (4) Broadford Lake: A good spot - Great Blue Heron (1) for life closeout # = 50, Ring-necked Ducks (many), Am. Coots (2), Mallards (yes), C. Geese = (many), Lesser Scaup (many), Black Ducks (several), Ruddy Ducks = (several), Am. Wigeon (15), Gadwall (2), Pied-billed Grebe (2). Herrington Lake: Northern Shoveler (1), Green-winged Teal (2), Hooded = Mergs (4), C. Geese (yes), Mallards (of course), Common Merg. (1).=20 A stop at Big Pool (Washington Co.) on the way back just before = nightfall garnered Hooded (2) and Common (2) Mergs., Wood Ducks (9), = Mallards (several), Black Ducks (2), Gadwall (2), Am. Coots (3), Tundra = Swans (3) and C. Geese (many). It was also great seeing all of the = American Elm Trees in bloom along the Canal there.
