The wind was high but it turned out to be an excellent birding day. The sparrows were plentiful with a half a dozen FOX, singing FIELD, SONG numbers increasing and a fair number of WHITE-THROATS. There were a couple SAVANNAHS but we didn't go up into their habitat much- for fear of being blown away. Other nice highlights were a dozen MEADOWLARKS, a couple KESTRELS (seen in flight through a scope due to Ralph Cullisons exceptional abilities with that contraption). NORTHERN HARRIER flying low over the fields our first EASTERN PHOEBE of the spring. The most unusual were a pair of flyover COMMON SNIPE - new to the location!
