Nothing too outrageous, but a lovely day. A fairly nice assortment of waterfowl at Courthouse Point including: RING-NECK ( 150+), GADWALL ( 2) GREEN-WING TEAL ( 16) SHOVELLOR ( 3) PIED-BILLED GREBE ( 4) and the usual MALLARD. Good looks at FIELD SPARROW chipping only, no song, and hunting RED-TAIL and COOPER HAWK. My four-footed companions reveled in the day as well and enjoyed a good swim!! At Bethel WMA I was pleased to get 6 PURPLE FINCH in the woods, RING-NECKS and the usual COOT on the impoundment. Up on the North Chesapeake City Canal Lands, I enjoyed a female NORTHERN HARRIER hunting over the fields. Mindful of the recent man-hunt near Baltimore, I stayed with the car at this latter remote location.
