Some of the Mayapples have pushed their stalks through the soil, = and unfurled their leaves. The Toothworts are out, blanketing the hillsides with white dots, and the Bloodroot is in bloom, here in southern Maryland. A winter wren sang -- not a full song but a great treat nontheless.
