Many were calling--and all heard were fish crows. We'r= e used to plenty of crows (both species) commuting over our house on their way to and from the massive Rockville winter roost. But the numbers are n= ow minimal since it's courting/nestbuilding season. I looked in the MD breeding bird atlas and confirmed that fish crows tend to nest a bit late= r than American crows (nests with eggs found from March 30 to June 8) and that the birds are generally more social during breeding season than Americans. Just thought I'd share this sighting. Anyone else seeing sizab= le and purely fish crow flocks?
