An adult COOPERS HAWK landed in the cherry trees along the side of the property clutching a freshly caught ( and unfortunate ) Mourning Dove, and proceeded to tear into it. It seemed to have trouble positioning the prey to its` taste, travelling along a limb with the MODO flopping awkwardly in its` talons and flew off for a better " table " elsewhere. Moments later a RED-TAILED HAWK soared overhead. TREE SWALLOWS provided their chattering to the other bird sounds as they buzzed and swarmed around a nest box to the rear of my property. Also enjoyed a male GOLDFINCH in full breeding regalia, brightest one I`ve seen this season. Enjoy this wonderful spring day, Leslie Fisher Cecil Co. ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
