Stan, Here is my best transcription of Bob Augustine's voice mail message givin= g directions to the bluff from which he (not me) saw the Northern Gannet an= d Red-necked Grebe: At the end of the entrance road for Quiet Waters park is a little circle; there is a bike path, essentially straight, that goes down from the circl= e to the edge of the water to the bluff (which is some 50-60 feet above the water). Once you get to the bluff, there are a couple of kiosk-tyoe structures that would locate the spot from which he saw the Northern Gann= et and the Red-necked Grebe. then at the end of the message he said: Enter Quiet Waters; go to the left around the large building to find the road that goes close to the river. The Red-necked Grebe flew by from right to left toward the bay after it w= as flushed by a boat. It landed a quarter mile or more away. You may want = to look at all birds in the water.... Good luck!
