We walked around the lily ponds, then out the marsh trail to the very end. We saw about 39 species, unfortunately not seeing the American Bittern reported yesterday and last Sunday. Some of what we did see: Pied-billed Grebe, 2, end of Marsh Trail Double-crested Cormorant, about 5 flying over Great Blue Heron, maybe 8, eoMT Wood Duck, several birds, most paired Hooded Merganser, 2 female birds eoMT Killdeer, 2 eoMT Greater Yellowlegs at least 2, flying over and eoMT Common Snipe, 3 or so, distant, eoMT Barn Swallow 2 Tree Swallow 2 Brown Thrasher, 3 singing vigorously Rusty Blackbird, about 5 birds heard singing (one seen) Zebra Swallowtail, one on MT Cabbage White the only other butterfly, about 5 Happy Saturday Rob _____________________________________________________ Sent by Jahoopa Free Email!
