I saw my first Chimney Swifts at Patuxent Wildlife Research Center today and saw and heard a singing Blue-gray Gnatcatcher there as well. Three Ring-necked Ducks along with several Green-winged Teal were observed at PWRC. While everyone has been reporting their Purple Martins have been back at their homes for a few weeks, the Martins at Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center only returned at noon yesterday. A large flock of Tree Swallows passed over flying with the Martins today.
