Highlights in addition to my usual feeder birds included: Fox Sparrow (2) Song Sparrow (1) Field Sparrow (2) Purple Finch (1 spectacular male) Golden-crowned Kinglet (1) Pine Siskin (16) Eastern Phoebe (2-a pair has nested over our front door for the past 6 years) Eastern Towhee (1). Today I had my first warbler show up--a Palm Warbler. Two days ago my pine siskin population that has been here all winter swelled to 40+. The noise was deafening! Last week there was a flock of 10 wild turkeys in the yard with Tom strutting his stuff for about 30 minutes. Absolutely marvelous view! I love springtime in Frederick. By the way, the Frederick Co. MOS walked Hughes Hollow last Saturday and heard and saw a Warbling Vireo. Isn't it really early for them? ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
