I'm putting up a bird/wildlife/butterflies sighting list at both parks. Hopefully, the pros that you all are will add to these lists when you visit the parks. Until June I'll have a list in the Herrington Manor office and one hanging on the concession stand at Swallow Falls. This will be a trail-and-error thing where to locate the lists for a while. For those of you who visit the park, would you be more likely to list your species if it were at the Herr. Manor concession stand? I'm a bit concerned about the one left at the concession stand at Swallow Falls (suspect it will disappear). We'll see. If you pass through and don't list your sightings, I'd appreciate your letting me know via e-mail what you've been seeing. I've set up an e-mail address at work, . With the help of Alleghany Power, Asplundh Tree Service, and the help of the Herrington Manor Friend's group, we've erected two osprey nest platforms on the west bank of Herrington Lake. We haven't seen any osprey in G.C. yet, but are hoping for some takers to the free nesting spots. Hope your migration season is rewarding!
