A COMMON LOON was on the lake toward the dam end. 7 CORMORANTS flew over, a breeding plumage HORNED GREBE and male BLUE-WING TEAL rounded out the usual waterfowl. A SPOTTED SANDPIPER was my first for this year. GR LEGS still there also. A CASPIAN TERN and BONAPARTES GULL were cruising back and forth over the water below 3 BROAD WINGED HAWKS. Both KINGLETS with lots of singing from the RUBYS. The PALM warblers were trilling and a lovely SOLIYTARY VIREO joined in the music. A HERMIT THRUSH posed in the tickets briefly and a CATBIRD was another new arrival. Singing BROWN THRASHER by the dam end pond.
