Couple of sightings also at Seneca and along Sycamore Landing Rd., as noted: at least 10 WOOD DUCK 8 BLUE-WINGED TEAL 2 NORTHERN SHOVELER 1 BOBWHITE (adult male) -- 1st of this species I have SEEN in Mont. Co. in many years 4 PURPLE FINCH singing 1 WINTER WREN singing 1 WHITE-EYED VIREO singing 1 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET singing 1 BROWN THRASHER singing 2 EASTERN PHOEBES 1 of them working on a nest on the viaduct in Seneca 1 GREEN HERON in the wet woods along Hunting Quarter Rd. (my first one in MD this year) 1 AMERICAN BITTERN flushed from the wet field along Sycamore Landing Rd., just west of River Rd. only warblers seen were YELLOW-RUMPED. Some of these were singing also.
