If you're heading north on 261 from North Beach, pass the main entrance to Herrington Harbour, go 0.2 mile, and check out the tiny pond on the left (inland)side. At the North Beach mudflats I was trying to turn one of the 20+ Green-winged Teal into a Blue-winged, when a Least Bittern did the normal tease: Up out of the marsh with no warning, flew 40-50 feet, and gone into the marsh again. I got a good look at the dorsal surface of the wings, and there was a nearby Snowy Egret for size comparison.
