Sure enough, the GB Herons in numbers were tending their nests. On one end of the island I saw an different looking nest, in the trees instead of on top. A black crowned night heron flew in and landed on the nest. Shortly after a second night heron landed. I spoke to a woman who lived in the townhouses and she said this was the first year the night herons had nested. I looked in the yellow book and didn't see a breeding code for BCNH for Montgomery County. Are these new tenants?
