About a year after we got = it, the floating head started to "catch" -- no longer a smooth movement -- an= d we detected leakage of fluid from the central pivot. We called Tiffen and they asked us to send it back for repair, it was of course still under warrenty. However, they actually sent us a completely new tripod! This wa= s nice since the first one had a slightly bent leg due to careless treatmen= t in Peru. The new tripod, which we've had for two years, is working well. It is our tripod of choice for travel, being sturdy and lighter than the Bogen we a= lso own (though in fairness the Bogen is better for the Questar as its very heaviness makes it more resistant to wind).
