He wasn't 100 percent sure last night but in the light of day it was obvious. In a combination of winter/breeding plumage the reddish tones of the back were just starting to show. The black belly was fairly obvious and the long decurved black bill and legs clinched it. The best way to see it with little walking is to park on Centenni= al lane between 108 and the west entrance where the car barrier and fire hydrant are, walk in on the south side (opposite side from the tennis courts) and go up to the point of the second island. It was feeding in the tiny area of mud and weeds. Also present were a Spotted S, Caspian, 4 Loon and 3 Bufflehead. Bonnie Ott The Dunlin is # 251 on my county life list! ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
