Luckily it didn't begin to rain in earnest until after I finished walking most of the trail= s. 12 species of warblers and a surprising number of Blue-headed Vireos. Nothing on the bay. 56 species total. Highlights: Wood Duck - 6 Great Blue Heron - 4 Green Heron - 2 Osprey - 1 Bald Eagle - 1 immature Laughing Gull - 3 Chimney Swift - 1 Pileated Woodpecker - 2 Eastern Wood Pewee - 1 White-eyed Vireo - 9 Red-eyed Vireo - 1 Blue-headed Vireo - 4 (more than I have ever had there at one time and singing nicely) Eastern Bluebird - 1 Wood Thrush - 1 Gray Catbird - 2 White-breasted Nuthatch - 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 17 Tree Swallow - 3 Barn Swallow - 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 2 American Goldfinch - too many to count and very noisy Warblers: Northern Parula - 12 Yellow-rumped - 19 Yellow-throated - 12 Pine - 6 Prairie - 1 Palm - 4 (three seen were all hypochrysea, one heard only) Black-and-White - 6 Worm-eating - 2 Ovenbird - 2 Louisiana Waterthrush - 2 Common Yellowthroat - 5 Hooded - 3 Seaside Sparrow - 4 Got home and found that a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird had finally foun= d my feeders!
