Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Imagine the look on Greg Miller's face when he shows up at the Denny's in Roswell, NM at 4:30 am yesterday morning (Saturday) and runs into .... me !!! Thursday night we both decided independently and at the last minute, to go on the BLM Lesser Prairie-Chicken "Tek Lek" on Saturday. I had the drop on Greg since he sent a message to MD_Osprey that he was headed there, but he didn't get my message back before he left. (Greg had tipped me off on this opportunity about three weeks ago). The trip was a total success. We had nine males booming, some in the open and within 50 feet of the car, and at least three females on the lek. I headed back Saturday afternoon. Greg, the inveterate lister, stayed over till Sunday to pick up more species for his year list. Small world, huh. ... Like the time Barbara and I ran into Norm and Fran Saunders at dusk at the Key West airport perimeter road (no we didn't get the Antillean Nighthawks ... they weren't in yet), or when we ran into Hal Wierenga at High Island, TX ...
