The greater yellowlegs, solitary sandpiper and spotted sandpipers that were previously reported were still there. No sign of the dunlin. Later we sat on a bench and watched a pair of ospreys fishing. Apparently it's either tough to hold on to the fish or these were inexperienced hunters ... several times they caught a fish and started to gain altitude, only to lose hold of the fish when it squirmed and struggled. Each finally managed to catch and keep hold of one, though, and first one and then the other flew off toward the trees for lunch. One caught a very small fish, and was back in about 10 minutes, but the fish the other one finally managed to hang on to was pretty good sized, so we didn't see it again while we were there.
