Volunteer for the horseshoe crab count! :-) We're still in need of volunteers to help with the Delaware horseshoe crab census. Dates are May 2, 4, 6 (new moon) May 16, 18, 20 (full moon) <-- peak dates May 31, June 2, 4 (new moon) <-- peak dates June 14, 16, 18 (full moon) Times are between 9pm to midnight, depending on location and date. If you would like to help on the New Jersey side of the bay, please call Benjie Swann at 609-465-6552. For Delaware: - If you can help for next week's Delaware count, please call Marian Pohlman at 302-653-6872. - If you are interested in the other dates, please call Marian (above number) or Bill Hall at 302-645-4253. Or you can register/learn more about the survey program at http://ael.er.usgs.gov/groups/stats/Limulus/ It's loads of fun so bring your kids, nieces/nephews or younger siblings to help out too. I started doing this several years ago out of concern for shorebirds. Now I do it also because I'm crazy about those cute cuddly hcrabs. :-) cheers, Shireen ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
