I have never heard anything like it - the Orioles, Robins and Sparrows were singing with Warblers and a BOBOLINK! There were 30+ GRAY CATBIRD flying in all directions trying to avoid the people walking by. A silent Empidonax Flycatcher was present. A large mixed flock of sparrows circled the park adding to the confusion. It was very hard to follow an individual - highlights are listed below. BOBOLINK!!! (1m) SCARLET TANAGER (1m) BLUE GROSBEAK (3m, 1f) ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK (1m, 1f) INDIGO BUNTING (1m) BALTIMORE ORIOLE (4m, 1f, 1im) ORCHARD ORIOLE (1m) WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (1) WOODTHRUSH (1) VEERY (1) GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER (3) YELLOW WARBLER (4) BLACK & WHITE WARBLER (1m) AMERICAN REDSTART (1m) COMMON YELLOWTHROAT (1m, 1f) MYRTLE WARBLER (4) RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH (1) GRAY CATBIRD (30+) BROWN THRASHER (1) CHIPPING, SWAMP, WHITE-THROATED, FIELD and SONG SPARROW (?) All of this in 2 1 hour walks - I'm still dizzy!
