They are housed here at the school, an= d we make extensive use of study skins in several classes and for other e= ducational purposes. I also teach students to prepare study skins, and d= o them myself. We have basic avian class and research collections, but n= eed to fill these out with birds that we do not currently have, or need r= eplacements for study skins that have become damaged. If anyone would li= ke to donate these items to the school, I would appreciate it if you woul= d contact me. If you find a dead bird, etc. and call or e-mail me, I can= authorize you to collect the item and either hold it until I can retriev= e it (should be ASAP) or perhaps transfer it to another permit holder unt= il I can come and get it. Birds that have been accidentally killed and a= re in good shape should be put in a sealed plastic bag, labelled as to collector, date, location, and presumed cause of deat= h, and placed in a freezer. Other donated materials should have similar = documentation. Thank you- I certainly prefer live birds, but we can real= ly make good use of those that are not alive any longer.
