When I left the house for work, I got to the intersection of Wilkinson Road and Craigs Corners Road at the entrance to Susquehanna State Park and there was a Tom Turkey in the middle of Wilkinson Road across Craigs Corners from me. As I watched, he slowly walked across Craigs Corners and into the brush stopping several times to display. I guess he was flirting with my van. On the Edgewood area of Aberdeen Proving Ground at the horse pasture vernal pond were about 6 Least Sandpipers, 4 Solitary Sandpipers, 2 Greater Yellowlegs and a Lesser Yellowlegs. Also about 6 Rusty Blackbirds. At lunch time, I spent a little time at the Melvin Boseley Conservancy. I heard Acadian Flycatcher, lots of Wood Thrushes and Yellow-rumped Warblers. I had great looks at a Northern Waterthrush and a Baltimore Oriole and got a brief glimpse of a pair of Orchard Orioles. The only other warbler was Common Yellowthroat. Two male Red-bellied Woodpeckers were contesting something, mostly vocally but actually came to blows a couple of times. On the way home from Havre de Grace this evening, I almost ran over an Indigo Bunting. Tonight, I put out a third hummingbird feeder, so 12 ports - no waiting.
