MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Spent 20 minutes this AM observing a Rough-wing carrying nesting material underneath & into one of the parked (truck) trailers lined up on a local company's lot. The underneath part of the trailer has a metal plate covering the entire bottom. There are round openings of about 5" to 6" cut into the metal. One of these openings must be the entrance to her Home Sweet Home. Dark, just like a mud hole. Hope the thing stays there 'til the cycle is completed. If not, mama bird may be hitting the road with her family before they're ready. On the other hand, I recall reading stories about swallows who had successful nestings on moving trains & ships.
