Real short notice, but maybe someone is available? Or knows someone who is? Charlie I am seeking an experienced bird bander to conduct an intensive mistnetting effort in the Green Ridge State Forest and Savage River State Forest in western Maryland. Technician will work independently to target mistnet Red-eyed Vireos and Ovenbirds using playbacks and models. Duties include setting mistnets in specified bird territories, color-banding captured Ovenbirds and Red-eyed Vireos, and aging the birds using feather characteristics as outlined in the Pyle Guide. Applicants MUST have experience in both setting and monitoring mist nets for forest songbirds, and aging songbirds using feather characteristics as outlined in the Pyle guide. Position starts ASAP and will last through mid-July. Salary is $260 per week, and housing will be provided. A personal vehicle is a must, mileage will be paid.
