We should not do things that will threaten the birds we enjoy so much. These birds, however, have chosen to nest a short distance from a busy roadway. I think that observing them from a respectful distance, either from the roadway or from the edge of the woods near the parking lot should not threaten them, assuming that one does not approach close enough to cause them to leave the nest and expose any eggs or young to the numerous crows in the area.
