Overnight radar returns for May 6th, 7th and 8th showed up to 1,800 birds per cubic km in some areas (have a look at the CUROL predictions and analysis section to see these images). A cold front moving in tomorrow, = may force some of these birds back down to the ground, so Wednesday could be interesting. Let us know what you see. For an informative article on the BirdCast project and a solid summary of the perils faced by migrants, have a look at the following article in the Philadelphia Inquirer: http://www.phillynews.com/inquirer/2000/May/08/magazine/BIRDS08.htm Cheers, Matthew McKown National Audubon Society mmckown@audubon.org WATCH MIGRATION: http://www.birdcast.org ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
