Common Yellowthroats seem to have come in as well. Ditto Red-eyed Vireos. Eastern Kingbirds and Great Crested Flycatchers are now on the Mall. At least 3 pairs of Baltimore Orioles seem to be defending territories from each other in the area between the Reflecting Pool and the Constitution Gardens pool. The flocks of sparrows (White-throated, etc) are gone. Yellow-rumped Warblers seem to be gone. Other single birds seen: Swainson's Thrush Magnolia Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler House Wren Jim Jim Felley Smithsonian Institution irmss668@sivm.si.edu PS: The blue-backed herring are spawning in the Tidal basin, and the young yellow perch, white perch and sunfish are scarfing up the eggs along the seawall. ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
