Lots of the breeding birds are back including some of the flycatchers. Lots of Least Flycatchers on Maple Glade Road and a probabl= e pee-wee (possibly Olive-sided) seen way up on the highest Hemlock (not singing of course). Tail was probably too long to be what I was hoping for. Good looks at Golden-wings, Chestnut sided, a couple Canada Warbler= s, Magnolias, Blackburnians, Blue-headed Vireos etc. On the way back I stopped in to a field near Frostburg that has had some sparrows in it. G= ot Henslowes, Vesper and Grasshopper all in the same field. Sunday I had less time to bird but I looked in at North Branch fi= nding nothing too special. Some Least Sandpipers were new and a few Solitary's and Spotteds. The Dunlin that was there last weekend was no longer there. Sorry I neglected to post that one (I thought Ray would post; doubtlessly he thought vice versa). Monday I took off work and went to Dan's Rock where I had 18 spec= ies of Warblers including Kentucky, Golden Winged (lots of em), Cerulean, Redstarts, Magnolia, Chestnut sided, Hooded, BT Blue, BT Green, Chat, Ovenbird, LA Waterthrush, ... Also RB Grosbeaks, and the best was a LINCOLN's Sparrow in a grassy opening not far from the road. I also interrupted a displaying Tom Turkey in a field that had many Grasshopper Sparrows and Field Sparrows a couple of Bobolinks and one or two Eastern Meadowlarks. I had to leave before long for Presque Isle SP where (Tuesday mor= ning) I had MANY individual birds of 22 sp of warblers and a really excellent tim= e (no details folks as this is way outside of MD).
