Back from New Orleans a day early and an apparently complete turnover of
migrants in UWBP since Tuesday.  This was a good Vireo day.  I walked out=
 of
the house to hear a song that wasn't right for a Red-eyed.  It turned out=
 to
be a Philadelphia Vireo!  In addition Dan Eberly, Pat Scheid and I saw 6
Red-eyed and 2 Blue-headed, one of which was the alticola subspecies, the=
 one
that breeds in Garrett Co.  The upper surface was a flat gray with no tra=
ce
of green and no contrast between the cap and the back.

Last night, as I was returning home just before midnight I heard a couple=
 of
Swainson's Thrushes migrating overhead.  I should have stayed out and
surveyed the migration, but I was too wiped out.  This morning I awoke to=
 a
singing Gray-cheeked in the back yard.  We later saw 4 Veery, 3 Swainson'=
s
and 3 Wood Thrushes.  There were 14 species of warblers, namely: 2
Chestnut-sided, 1 Magnolia, 2 Black-throated Blue, 5 Yellow-rumped, 1
Black-throated Green, 1 Blackburnian, 5 Blackpoll (the end is near), 6 Re=
dstar
t, 1 Ovenbird, 2 Northern Waterthrush, 1 Louisiana Waterthrush, 1 Kentuck=
y
(on territory?), 1 Northern Yellowthroat and 1 Canada.  For good measure
there were still 4 Scarlet Tanagers, 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and a
Baltimore Oriole around.

With the Wilson's and Worm-eating Warblers that Dan and Pat saw in my
absence, the warbler total comes to 25 species for the past week.  Passab=
le.
