At Flag Ponds I ended up with 90 species. Highlights were one Bufflehead, Snowy and Great Egret, woodcock, two Great Horned Owlets sitting on a tre= e branch in the late morning, 96 (!) Cedar Waxwings, a great showing for thrushes: Veery, Wood, Swainson's (7) and one Gray-cheeked/Bicknell's whi= ch I can't count as I can't tell the difference between the two. Also had on= e Northern Oriole and 18 warbler species including 5 Magnolias, 1 Canada an= d 1 Northern Waterthrush. There were two Bank Swallows flying over and under a small culvert on Parran Road. My total for the day was 106 species. Thought I might try some more owling after dark but a violent storm which hit the area in the evening ended that thought. ////// Arlene Ripley | || Calvert County, MD | 0 || aripley@nestbox.com | || http://www.nestbox.com || ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
