The bird was molting from basic to alternate, and had small patches of chestnut on its breast. It was feeding with DUNLIN. Also present in the flock were some WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER. Also, during the count on Sat., I saw a strange- looking shorebird that _may_ have been a REEVE. I'm not calling it because I'm not sure. So if someone else saw this bird, and can confirm the sighting, please let me know. It was at the back end of Shearness Pool during the late morning. I'd be interested in hearing about other sightings of the curlew sp. and its appearance. Hope this birds sticks around, they are simply magnificent in breeding plumage. I'll be out of email contact on Monday, but will check email on Tuesday. cheers, shireen ========================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ========================================================================= ===========================================================================
