Comments: cc: marvadel@egroups.com, icepeep@aol.com In-Reply-To: <200005150409.AAA01592@stsci.edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII The Curlew Sandpiper was still present at north Shearness yesterday afternoon, and quite a few people got to visit with him. He is molting quite rapidly and was quite different from yesterday--has more chestnut on his breast. Also seen at Bombay Hook was a Sharp-tailed sparrow at the salt-marsh section of the Boardwalk Trail. There are a couple of Brown Thrashers at the Bear Swamp trail, a nesting pair, I believe. (The male was doing all sorts of goofy displays!) At Port Mahon, a few Sanderlings (molting into alternate) and 5 absolutely gorgeous Red Knots were present. Please be on the lookout for color-banded Sanderlings, Red Knots, and Turnstones, and please report these sightings to the Western Atlantic Shorebird Association webpage. (I saw a few banded RTs and a San. yesterday.) http://www.vex.net/~hopscotc/shorebirds/ Good birding!
