The best "spot" on Elliott I. Road for Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow is way south along the road where it makes the sharp right bend to the west side of the penninsula [near what Harry Armistead calls "The Wigeon Pond"]. The favored habitat is expanses of Spartina patens with water "pans" [those isolated shallow pools in the high marsh]. The song is weak [it does not travel well] like a Savannah Sparrow. Good Birding!
