Anyway, the early part of the week was superb, the latter part (including today) very dull. Highlights from Monday (5/15) including Mourning, Wilson's and Cape May warblers (plus 17 other spp.), Lincoln's Sparrow, Traill's-type empid; Tuesday was not quite as active but we had 14 spp. of warbler, and empids came in with 2-3 Yellow-bellied, 1 Least. We also had three Gray- cheeked Thrushes, one of which was very tempting to call Bicknell's as it was quite warm in tone and had a warm flesh lower mandible, but was silent and would not allow us to get very close. I am sure Bicknell's must pass through Rock Creek, as we get good numbers of G-Cs most years, but it has never been definitively confirmed. We didn't go yesterday but reports were it was slow, and today was so quiet that we were home by 9 am! Oh well, perhaps the weather will change again. We did see a lovely Hooded singing consistently near the horse paddocks, a traditional site in years they breed, so we can only hope! Cheers, Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
